BOTTI'S A FAN OF SOVEREIGN

Marco Botti's progressive Fanunalter heads a field of 12 in the totepool Sovereign Stakes at Salisbury on Thursday.

The five-year-old returned from a spell in Dubai to land the Group Three Diomed Stakes at Epsom, for which he has to shoulder a 3lb penalty. He then ran the smart Dick Turpin to three-quarters of a length in Ascot's Summer Mile.

Ascot third Side Glance, trained by Andrew Balding, takes him on again, as does Chris Wall's Premio Loco, who was found to have been out of sorts when disappointing in the Diomed.

Godolphin are represented by last year's third Secrecy, recent Pontefract winner Emerald Commander, and Frozen Power.

The respective first and second home in the Royal Hunt Cup, Walter Swinburn's Julienas and Ed Vaughan's Dance And Dance, try their hand in Pattern company.

Clive Cox saddles Beacon Lodge, who was third to Strong Suit in the Lennox Stakes on his latest start but will only run if the ground is suitable.

Mac Love won this race in 2009 and the 10-year-old tries again for Stef Higgins, while Field Of Dream and The Rectifier make up the field.
