CHEVELEY DUO UP FOR AVON

Chris Richardson expects Piano and Clinical to do Cheveley Park proud in the EBF 'Exceed And Excel' Upavon Fillies' Stakes at Salisbury on Wednesday.
Sir Mark Prescott's Clinical carries the first colours of the renowned stud, but needs to bounce back to form having finished last in the Coronation Stakes, while the John Gosden-trained Piano's recent third behind Principal Role at Newcastle suggested a Listed race such as this should come her way.
Richardson, managing director of Cheveley Park, said: "Piano is in good form and she prefers top of the ground, so conditions should be in her favour. She's generally there or thereabouts and we consider her a progressive filly."
He added: "She ran very well back over this trip at Newcastle last time and I think the ground was soft enough for her that day.
"She is improving all the time and I think John is very happy with her. She's a light-framed filly and I think she's going to continue to mature physically.
"Clinical hated the ground in the Coronation Stakes and, with hindsight, we shouldn't have run, but it was Royal Ascot and we thought we'd have a go at it. She should return to form on better ground at Salisbury and hopefully we can get a bit more black type.
"I would think Clinical would probably have the edge over the other filly, but these things don't always work out as you'd expect."
Seta, Luca Cumani's three-time Listed-race winner, concedes weight to each of her 11 rivals.
"She's moving up to a mile and a quarter for the first time, which is a bit of an experiment, but we are hopeful that it might bring about a bit of improvement," said Cumani.
"She looks like she should stay the trip and it would be nice if she can improve some more. We are looking forward to the race."
