BOTTI WANTS RAIN FOR REGAL PARK

Marco Botti is hoping for rain at Newmarket ahead of Regal Park's run in the Betfred Cesarewitch on Saturday.

The Montjeu gelding has run consistently well without winning this season and two of his best efforts, earlier in the year at Sandown and at Newmarket last time, came with cut in the ground.

"We're hoping for some rain at the end of the week as he's a horse that acts well on soft ground," Botti told sportinglife.com.

"We've kept him fresh for this race and we're looking forward to it.

"He doesn't mind a big field and he's a horse that usually comes off the pace and has a good finish. He's bred to stay and he's done well over two miles so I'm not concerned about the trip.

"He wants a strong pace and the big field should ensure that so I'm hopeful he can go well."

Regal Park is a 25-1 chance for the race with Sky Bet.
