WELL SET FOR DOWN ROYAL DEBUT

Crack novice hurdler Oscars Well is set to make his seasonal reappearance in the WKD Hurdle at Down Royal on November 4.

The six-year-old won twice at Grade One level last season and would have gone close to completing a hat-trick in the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham but for fluffing his lines at the final flight.

Trainer Jessica Harrington is keen to persevere over hurdles this season and his comeback run in Northern Ireland will give connections an indication whether the gelding can develop into a serious Champion Hurdle candidate.

"He seems well. I'm actually taking him to the Curragh today for a spin and I'm happy with him at the moment," said Harrington.

"I don't think he's too far away from a run and he could start off in the race for second season novices at Down Royal.

"We'll see how he gets on there before we make any other plans."

Harrington's other stable star during the last National Hunt campaign was Bostons Angel, who did record his third Grade One win at Cheltenham with a determined display in the RSA Chase.

He will now have to test his powers against the best staying chasers in the land, with a trip to Down Royal also on his radar.

"He also seems well - he couldn't be better," Harrington added.

"He's not going to be ready for Punchestown, so he'll probably go to Down Royal as well (the JNwine.com Champion Chase, November 5).

"It could be a big couple of days."
