ELLIOTT PLOTS CARLITO'S WAY

Carlito Brigante warms up for a crack at the John Smith's Hurdle at Wetherby later this month with a prep run on the Flat at Dundalk tomorrow.

The five-year-old, winner of the Coral Cup at Cheltenham in the spring, is among a field of 14 for the Celtic Rivals Handicap over a mile and a half on the all-weather surface.

"He's in good form. It's his first run back and we're going to go the same route we went with him last year," said trainer Gordon Elliott.

"We didn't want to run him on soft ground so are giving him a run on better ground.

"Then he'll go to Wetherby for the John Smith's Hurdle."

His rivals include Harrison's Cave and Monte Carlo from Aidan O'Brien's stable, Michael Halford's duo of Leaves You Baby and Sonapour plus Edward Lynam's course and distance winner Denny Crane.
