WIND SET TO BLOW IN LIMERICK

Evan Williams is looking forward to seeing West With The Wind step back up in grade for the PricewaterhouseCoopers Chase at Limerick on Sunday.

The six-year-old ran no sort of race in last season's Arkle Trophy at the Cheltenham Festival but was back on form at Ffos Las in August, securing his fifth victory over fences for his Welsh trainer.

As he is now rated 155, Williams believes his charge deserves to test the water at a higher level and he looks set to face a stern test this weekend with Grade One winner Realt Dubh and the smart Loosen My Load as possible opponents.

"The plan is for him to head to Ireland and he's going there in really good form," said Williams.

"He's done really well for us and you can put a line through his run in the Arkle as he'd been on the go for a long time and was as dead as you like that day. We have one or two little excuses.

"The form of his last win at Ffos Las has worked out well and I think he deserves to step back up to Graded company now.

"It's a good race on Sunday but if you look at the ratings and the weights, I think you'll find we come out just in front.

"He loves rattling fast ground but he's not going to get that at this time of year and we've got to get on with it.

"He's still a young horse and I hope he can continue to go the right way."
