FERLAND KEEN TO RETAIN DABIRSIM

Christophe Ferland accepts Dabirsim's owner could find it "difficult to say no" if a huge offer was made for the unbeaten colt.

The French two-year-old took his record to five victories from as many starts in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp, showing a tremendous turn of foot to come from last to first under Frankie Dettori.

Despite the inevitability of some of racing's powerhouse owners bidding for the juvenile over the winter, connections have suggested he is not for sale.

But Ferland is realistic enough to understand that a potential offer could be too good to turn down.

"We don't know yet what will happen. Mr (Simon) Springer (owner) does not need to sell and I hope he keeps him, of course," said Ferland.

"We will have to wait and see what is offered.

"Sometimes it is difficult to say no if there is a lot of money offered."

Should he stay in Ferland's care, the French trainer will be eyeing up next year's Classics, either in his homeland or across the English Channel.

"Everything is perfect with the horse since Sunday," Ferland added.

"We had one of Frankie Dettori's incredible rides, but even a jockey like Frankie needs the horse to do it and he responded for him very well.

"He will not run again this season and it is too early to finalise plans for next year.

"I would hope to give him one run in France and then go for either the Poule d'Essai des Poulains or the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket."
