Roger Varian believes there is plenty to look forward to with the well-touted Firdaws following her narrow debut defeat at Newbury on Friday.
The daughter of Oaks heroine Eswarah was all the rage for that racecourse introduction but although she travelled strongly, she was just unable to reel in Tales Of Grimm.
Varian is confident his youngster will have learned plenty from the experience and feels she will make her mark at a higher grade in time.
"She's come out of it well and I was quite pleased with her. She didn't win, but she ran a race full of promise," Varian told At The Races.
"She showed a bit of greenness and probably just needed the run, but she looked to have a bit of ability there, which is what we wanted her to show.
"She has come out of it well and I think she's a filly to look forward to.
"The Fillies' Mile is a bit of time off. You'd need something in between and you'd have to win well to look at going for a race like that.
"I think she's a filly of considerable potential, but our first priority will be making her a winner and after that, hopefully we can aim a bit higher."
