Hoof It features among 21 possibles for the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York next Friday after being supplemented at a cost of £20,000.
The Mick Easterby-trained sprinter, owned by leading golfer Lee Westwood and his agent, Chubby Chandler, was added to the field for the Group One sprint after claiming the Stewards' Cup at Glorious Goodwood.
He is already three times a winner on the Knavesmire, and big-race rider Kieren Fallon is convinced it is the right move to try the four-year-old at this level.
He said: "After his performance at Goodwood, where else do you go? You have to try him. It would be a great thrill for me to win this for Mick Easterby and for Chubby and Lee, as well.
"However, it would be a thrill to do it for Mick more so than anybody else - he is one of the true characters left in the game."
Norfolk Stakes winner Bapak Chinta, trained by Kevin Ryan, is one of three juveniles still in the frame, the others being Queen Mary heroine Best Terms and Irish challenger Requinto, who has also been supplemented.
Ryan has a strong entry, with Breathless Kiss, Masamah and Tiddliwinks also in contention.
Last year's winner Sole Power and the Mick Halford-trained Invincible Ash could also represent Irish interests.
July Cup runner-up Bated Breath remains in the shake-up, despite having suffered a setback earlier in the week. However, Roger Charlton on Saturday issued an upbeat bulletin on the sprinter's progress, claiming he was "85-15 in favour" of running, as long as the ground is not too soft.
Kingsgate Native, who claimed the Nunthorpe in 2007, could take his chance, along with King's Stand Stakes winner Prohibit. Other intriguing entries includes French raider Wizz Kid, the Tim Easterby-trained Captain Dunne and recent Tipperary scorer Inxile.
