EXCELEBRATION CELEBRATION

Excelebration further cemented his growing reputation with a six length win in a decent renewal of the Group Two Hungerford Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.

Marco Botti's stable star is one of the few horses to have got Frankel out of his comfort zone this season - albeit very fleetingly, in the Greenham in April - and he heads a high class entry of 35 horses for the Betfair Celebration Mile at Goodwood on August 27.

Poet's Voice ran out a four and a half length winner last year and heads seven entries for Godolphin, who also have the likes of Delegator, Emerald Commander, Biondetti and Rio De La Plata in the race.

Aidan O'Brien has entered Roderic O'Connor who is due to line up in Wednesday's Juddmonte International and Zoffany, who got to within three quarters of a length of Frankel in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot but disappointed in the Prix Maurice de Gheest last time.

He had previously finished one place in front of Strong Suit in the Prix Jean Prat and could be set to clash again with Richard Hannon's runner who went on to run out an impressive winner of the Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

There could also be an international flavour to the race with Mike de Kock responsible for three entries in Musir (third to Excelebration on Saturday), Mahbooba and Raihana.

Excelebration and Poet's Voice are Timeform's top-rated horses in the line-up.
