Ryan Moore refused to earmark a potential date for when he can return to action after suffering a broken humerus and a broken thumb.
Moore was brought down in a three-horse pile-up at Goodwood on July 30, with the injuries having put paid to his chances of being crowned champion jockey for a fourth time.
"To be honest, I can't do too much. The idea is to keep mobile and to take it steadily," said the jockey.
"Basically I dislocated my shoulder backwards. I also broke the top part of my arm, and my thumb.
"I think the shoulder must have popped back in while I was still on the track.
"I haven't set a comeback date to aim for. The most important date for me is when I have my next round of X-rays at the end of the month.
"That will be an assessment of the healing and how I am progressing.
"Only then will I know how hard I can push myself," Moore told the Telegraph.
