CLOUD GETS HEAD START IN FORET

Freddie Head has identified the Prix de la Foret as the next objective for his brilliant Deauville winner Moonlight Cloud.

The three-year-old ran no sort of race when sent off favourite for the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in May, but has thrived since being dropped back in distance.

She proved much too strong for the likes of Society Rock, Genki and July Cup hero Dream Ahead in Sunday's Prix Maurice de Gheest, and could bid for further Group One honours at Longchamp on October 2.

"She came out of the race very well and I am delighted with her. She is a very good filly and very fast," said Head.

"We had a bad start to the year at Newmarket but she has done very well since and showed how good she is on Sunday.

"I think the Prix de la Foret will be her next race, because she is not entered at Haydock (Betfred Sprint Cup) and there is really nothing else for her.

"The only other option would be to step her back up to a mile for a race like the Sun Chariot or something like that, but I think we will stay at this distance for the moment.

"I think she might stay in training next year, so we could step back up in distance then if we wanted to."
